A member asked:

So a tsh of 5.5 with t3 (liothyronine) of 2.8 & t4 of 0.98 (was told t3 (liothyronine) & t4 r ok) is it right to take 50mcg of levothyroxine? i also take asgwaghanda for hotflash

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, your TSH value suggests thyroid deficiency and it would reasonable to take levothyroxine.
