Hepatitis C: Hepatitis C generally comes from intravenous infection. Sexual transmission is possible but not likely. Hepatitis C can cause swelling of the liver and stretching of Glissens capsule that surrounds the liver. This can sometimes cause discomfort in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen that is worse with inspiration.
