Bleeding: You are describing a subchorionic hemorrhage. There is no real placenta at this stage. If it is small and you have no bleeding or pain don't worry about it. It happens frequently and most people go on to have completely normal pregnancies. If you have significant pain or bleeding in pregnancy you are at risk for miscarraige and should seek medical attention.
