URGENT: A toothache along with swelling would indicate an infection. This is a potentially dangerous situation and requires that she be brought to a dentist (Pedodontist) right away for a proper evaluation and treatment. Check her temperature and if it is elevated and you cannot see a dentist right away, bring her to the ER of a local hospital or 24/7 emergency medical facility.

Pediatric dentist: are qualified to meet the dental needs of infants, toddlers, school-age children, and adolescents. An abscess is an infection that can appear as swelling adjacent to the tooth in the cheek or lip area. Your child may have pain to hot or cold, or facial swelling. Pain is often relieved temporarily with Ibuprofen or Tylenol (acetaminophen). See a pedodontist ASAP for diagnosis and treatment.
