Left over blood: It's not completely abnormal to have an irregular cycle once in awhile- in your case having two periods of bleeding in one month. If you are on any kind of hormonal birth control this can sometimes cause this too. The second period sounds like it actually was just old blood, likely left over from your first period, so it may just be a case of retained blood coming out after a normal period.
