Could a woman ovulate ovulate the next day after her period ends with a usual 28 day cycle?

Timing: Ovulation occurs 12-16 days prior to the start of the next period. Thus, in a usual 28 day cycle, ovulation occurs at the mid point. However, it is possible to ovulate early, but one would not know it until the next period starts early.
