Hirsutsm is common: Frequently after an exam and some lab tests (to rule out PCOS, or other hormone problems) women find out that their hair growth is not a disease. Sometimes losing weight can help. Your doctor can prescribe certain types of birth control pills that may help as well. A medicine called spironolactone is sometimes used for this also. Vaniqua is a cream used to reduce hair growing over the lip.

There are several types of conditions relating to facial hair. Every woman has some, so it is a matter of degree. Shaving or other removal of facial hair does NOT stimulate hair to grow more.
