A member asked:

Zanaflex (tizanidine) and soma compound what is the difference?

Completely different: Although both are known as muscle relaxants, Zanaflex (tizanidine) is really a muscle relaxant. It works by decreaseing spinal cord reflexes. Soma is actually more of a sedative even though it is prescribed as a muscle relaxant. They are different chemically and completely different in how they work.

Alot: Soma compound has Carisoprodol and aspirin. Soma (carisoprodol) is more of a tranquilizer than a muscle relaxer. Zanaflex (tizanidine) is an excellent muscle relaxer than truely works to relax spastic muscles (unlike soma).
