Possible Strep: Multiple viral and bacterial infections can cause the symptoms that were stated. The virus will run its course however, if strp, untreated it could possibly lead to rheumatic fever, endocarditis and glomerulonephritis. Joint pain may be present at any time. You should be checked for strep by culture and blood if necessary and treated with antibiotics if needed. Good luck.

Reactive arthritis: May be a reactive arthritis due to bacteria such as Strep v. viral infection versus STD versus chronic infection (e.g. hep b/c). Cannot r/o early connective tissue disease but again, only 2 days. Given exposure in health care setting, fever, cough - baseline work up at least rapid strep and cx , CXR, unclear of date of post but check for the seasonal viral possibilities (e.g. flu season).
