Strain/tendonitis: It's possible you have a strain of one of the small stabilizing muscles that keeps the shoulder together or even inflammation of one of the tendons. Have your doctor examine you to see if he/she can pinpoint the muscle or tendon and possibly recommend treatment like physical therapy to strengthen and stabilize the affected muscle/tendon. NSAIDs like Ibuprofen or Naproxen may help as well.
