Vaginal odor?: panty shields are a choice, but aren't necessary. While there is a "smell" to a vagina, this is nothing to be ashamed of or try to cover up. It's normal. Sometimes a panty shield is not "breathable", and may contribute to vaginal odor or overgrowth of bacteria or yeast. Ur panties likely don't smell Bc of the shield. Try cotton panties and no shield, and see your ob to be checked for infection.
