A member asked:

Interested to know if people have a worse sense of hearing when they have a stroke?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on location: If stroke occurs in the brainstem, or a patient has a block of the internal auditory artery, hearing could be affected, but this is an unusual stroke consequence. Apparent Hearing loss can also be due to comprehension issues due to stroke affecting speech areas, even though ears are normal.
