High Prolactin?: Hi. The common symptoms of high prolactin (PRL) are cessation of periods and breast milk. Ask your doctor to check a PRL level (a blood test). Some drugs can cause elevated prolactin, but most often it's due to a benign pituitary tumor (prolactinoma). If PRL is high, you'll need a pituitary MRI. If you have a prolactinoma, treatment is with a pill, not surgery. Good luck.
