Jabs: Fleeting,often Sharp pains in that area of the chest frequently come from pinching of the nerves that run between the ribs. A deep breath may bring them on or make them more noticeable. They are more of a nuisance than anything serious,however if they persist or worsen,your physician will order any appropriate tests or xrays.
