Rare but happens: Teens are at a bit higher risk of developing toxemia of pregnancy. This is a condition where their kidneys begin to shut down, blood pressure sky rockets & they can stroke and die.If managed early it can be stopped before it gets out of hand but it can be deadly to mother & baby. A good working relationship with the delivery team and an understanding of when to call or come in is very important.
