A member asked:

What is the drug of choice for one who is having acne chronically ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends: All acne is chronic. You describe scarring. The burning question right now is whether you can be managed on topical benzoyl peroxide plus perhaps a systemic antibiotic, or whether you are a candidate for isotretinoin. If you are offered the latter, and you're brave, go for it. Most people who tough it out with this rough medication are very glad.
