i've had two shorter periods since i started having pregnancy symptoms. now my midriff is expanding too, so i tested again (negative). cysts?

Hard to know: Ovarian cysts usually cause pain, but not always. You would need an ultrasound to be sure you have one. But you could also just have intestinal distention, and that would cause you to expand a bit in the middle too. The shorter periods could be due to age, stress, travel, change in weight, etc. but if it's bothering you, it's reasonable to get it checked out.
