Not breakthrough: Breakthrough bleeding is a term used to describe bleeding at the wrong time in women on birth control. You are not on birth control so this is just called irregular menstrual bleeding. There are lots of options for cycle control. Schedule a visit to discuss and to have your pain evaluated.
