Scar vs. active TB: Sometimes pulmonary TB when treated leaves scar tissue and does not entirely clear from chest Xray. If area has decreased in size and not progressed is a good sign. Radiograph is only one parameter. Drug treatment typically lasts for at least 6 months and sometimes longer. Stopping treatment too early can result in a recurrence of the infection and can lead to the development of drug-resistant TB
