Harder to find: Pontocaine, or chloroprocaine, is an ester based local anesthetic with rapid onset and offset. It is relatively safe but do to its extremely rapid metabolism and ultra-short half life, it is rarely used and therefore can be difficult to find. It is sometimes used in conjunction with a longer acting anesthetic. Found primarily in hospitals.
