Edex (alprostadil): Edex can be used with an oral agent such as Viagra (sildenafil). I would be careful as to the dose that is used. The oral and injection can act together and cause a prolonged erection known as priapism (erection longer than 4 hours). I usually tell patients to increase to edex first before trying an oral agent in addition
