Depends.: What type of pain are you trying to treat? If this is due to Arthritis, any NSAID like Naprosyn, Celebrex or Ibuprofen can help. Tylenol (acetaminophen) may also be helpful. These medications can be used for headaches, toothaches or muscles aches. Post-surgical pains may need a stronger pain medication initially such as Hydrocodone or at the discretion of the doctor.
