How possible is epilepsy if your relative has it?

UNLIKELY: Most cases of epilepsy have little genetic causation, and if your relative is not within your immediate family, very unexpected that you would also have it. However, if you developed a brain infection, head injury, or abused drugs or alcohol, you might acquire epilepsy due to those issues.
