How much time does it take a person to develop diabetes?

Variable: Hi. It is variable, and very difficult to accurately assess. Type 1 seems to come on more rapidly in younger patients than in older new onset type 1's. Type 2 is probably even more variable in rate of onset. Not an easy question to answer. Sorry.
