Unknown and variable: Common sense says that the longer you smoke and the more cigs you smoke, the higher the risk for cancer (lung, throat, kidney, bladder, etc). How this applies to a particular individual, is not possible to guess. It may be decades for some, and a few years for others. If you smoke, STOP. Your risk may not drop as low as a never-smoker but should go down with time.
