Specializes in Dentistry

4 years: You'll need a four year curriculum to prepare you for the admission testing. Once accepted, you'll attend a dental school for an additional four years. To become a specialist, you will need a few more years of education, which varies based on the specialty.

8+ years: 4 years of college with specific requirements, such as physics, biology, organic chemistry, etc. Check w Amer Dent Assn for list of prerequisites. Mead a GPA >3.4. Then 4 years of Dental School. And if you want to specialize you will need to be in top 4% of dental School class to be considered for a specialty residency, which will take another 2-5 years.
