Many things: Hi. Addison's disease is primary adrenal failure, usually of autoimmune etiology. The patients feel fatigue & malaise, dizziness on standing, nausea, loss of appetite, weight loss, low BP, high pulse, darkening skin, low blood sodium, high blood potassium, hi ACTH & low cortisol. In the untreated state, any severe illness, infection, trauma, etc can be lethal. Treat with Cortef (hydrocortisone) & Florinef.
