A member asked:

If you usually have painful menstrual cramps. does that mean your childbirth will be more painful?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not necessarily: There is not really any correlation between degree of pain a woman experiences during her menstrual period and how painful labor is likely to be. Childbirth pain varies dramatically from patient to patient, and some women go through childbirth with no pain medicine whatsoever, and others sometimes describe pain despite having an epidural.
