Depends: There is a common variation in the mid shaft small finger that produces an in-curving of that digit. This modification called clinodactaly is present on both sides & passed as an autosomal dominant. This means a 50% chance with every pregnancy that it would be present in the child. "funny looking" is not very specific. If dad's issue is one sided or due to injury it is less likely to be genetic.
