Depends: A positive test is accurate. A negative may not be as it may be too early. You should wait 4-5 days after a missed period to do the test. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions carefully. The test may be positive sooner, but a negative test sooner than that does not rule out pregnancy.

Pregnancy: Pregnancy tests are reliable but are never 100% accurate. I would repeat the test in 2-4 weeks.
