Nausea: Peptic ulcers, infections, food allergies, etc. There is probably a hundred different common reasons for nausea. Theses would also include anxiety and stress.

Daily on/off nausea: Distinguish pregnancy, inflammatory (ulcer, small bowel disease, gallbladder/ biliary problem, pancreatitis, uti), structural (partial obstruction, extrinsic impression against the gut (adhesions, superior mesenteric artery syndrome), functional (gastroparesis, irritable bowel), anxiety, much more. A thorough exam and some directed imaging studies & labs should provide your answer.
