Yes it can: Due dates by ultrasound can be used as approximate dates. After all the baby will deliver when it is ready. Use the ultrasound date as a guide. Not etched in stone. And as always your obstetrician knows best about when to deliver the baby

I had a blood test at exactly 4wks after the first day of my last menstruation, and it was positive for pregnancy. Gynae wont give me a date for my first scan until I have more bloods done in a week as my beta quantitative levels were low... apparently..
