Supportive care: Airway support with frequent suctioning as needed. Elevation of head of bed 15- 30 degrees. Feeding via gastrostomy or feeding tube. Tracheostomy is a consideration for management of airway. Monitor for infection. Frequent turning side to side to avoid break-down ulcerations Look for significant changes in condition from day to day. Consider extended care facility.
