Normally no: however, it is noted that some women do have light bleedingy. Some bleed normally on the day of their period and the rest of the cycle is light and spotting. It is however not the norm. The majority of pregnant women do not bleed throughout their pregnancy.

Sometimes: Bleeding during pregnancy remains a challenging problem. 25% of pregnancies are miscarried in the first trimester. 25% of ongoing pregnancies have unexplained first trimester bleeding. These figures are lower for second and third trimester bleeding but not zero! Second and third trimester bleeding could be signs of placenta previa (placenta over cervix) or abruption (early separation.)
