Regardless of meals: It's not clear that it provides any significant benefit weight loss wise. While there is good data that it promotes weight loss in rats the small human trials are much less exciting. There is a trend to increased weight loss but a significant amount. It is recommended to take with meals, but it isn't "activated" by food. Everyone responds differently though and maybe you will really help you.
