Myths: First of course you must be concerned. Herpes is permanent. There are two types of herpes. 75% of Americans have the oral version of herpes and 25% have the genital version. The Genital Herpes virus can cause significant injury to a fetur during birthed. 90% of those who have herpes do not have outbreaks, but they are still just as contagious. Viral shedding happens regardless.
