Consider using Benzo: Consider the use of a benzodiazepine in order to obtain relief from anxiety. Theses meds may be used for a period of 4-6 weeks maximum They are fairly rapid acting. Consider Xanax, (alprazolam) Lorazepam or similar benzo. Use of antidepressant may not work fast enough to reduce the anxiety. An SSRI may notit will not work for 2-8 weeks. Antianxiety agent can be used to decrease stres then weaned off.

Increase Buspar (buspirone).: You may need to increase your Buspirone and take a mild sleeping medication such as Remelteon or Benadryl for the next two weeks . You need to have a good night sleep to help you handle the stress . Relaxation techniques, mindful breathing, listening to relaxing music before you go to bed, can help you relax. A hot shower or hot bath may help before bedtime , a full body massage can help.

Early awakening: Only one drug is approved for early awakening, the same drug excellent for sleep-zolpidem (10 mg, about $20 for 30). The sub-lingual under the tongue form for early awakening contains 3.5 mg. Patented, costs >$400 for 30! The same active ingredient, absorbs through the mucous membranes. I now prescribe patients the 10 mg pill, to cut it in half, chew it without swallowing. Bitter, but it works.
