A member asked:

My husband has been having some coughing spells. they seem to be triggered either after he's eaten a meal or if he's tired. what could this be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possible reflux: Coughing spells without sputum production may be due to gastric reflux. Have him avoid large feedings or reclining after meals. If cough persists a physician should examine him and order appropriate tests. Sometimes a dry cough is an asthma equivalent.
