can you tell me about genetic hair loss or stress or alopecia?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Glenn Messina
34 years experience Aesthetic Medicine
Causes: there are many causes of hair loss, hypothyroid is an endocrine cause, pulling the hair during anxiety spells or at night, family history of loss is another. If parent is balled it can be genetic. Alopecia is a specific loss of body hair totalis lacks all hair lashes included. Some alopecia is in an area like the chin back etc.
