A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doctor of medicine: Ophthalmologist (Eye MD) are medical doctors trained to diagnose & treat medical & surgical diseases of the eye, eyelid & adnexa. Optometric doctors (ODs)diagnose & treat diseases of the eye but are not trained to perform intraocular surgery, & most other forms of invasive procedures. (Some states are challenging these restrictions). Training duration is significantly longer for eye MDs than ODs.
