How long can egg stay in a blocked falopian tubes?

Not fertilized?: An unfertilized egg, from my understanding, will last only for approximately 12-24 hours in a blocked fallopian tube before it decomposes. If the egg is fertilized, it may implant in the fallopian tube and create an ectopic pregnancy which is not sustainable for the mother or fetus and must be removed surgically.
