A member asked:

Can taking psuedephedrine show up as meth in a drug test?

Yes, but only in: screening tests, not in confirmatory tests. It does not show up as methamphetamine but rather as amphetamine itself. Confirmatory tests (gas chromatography, mass spectroscopy and others) can definitively determine whether there is methamphetamine or amphetamine and differentiate it from pseudoephedrine, but the screening tests cannot.

Depends. . . : depending on the screening test Sudafed may show up. However all confirmations of preliminary drug tests are comfirmed using gas chromatography/mass spectroscopy. These chemistry methods produce unique patterns for a given chemical. These methods are able to distinguish between true methamphetamine and a cross reactive substance like Sudafed.
