A member asked:

My grand mother age is 60 suffering from uterine cancer. will her body be able to tolerate the side effects of radiation therapy?

Yes: When radiation is delivered to the pelvis it has to be focused on the organ or region to receive the radiation otherwise other structures than uterus can be effected. A good center uses imrt which can focus the beam to virtually hit the target with little radiation spill over.

See below: Depending on the stage of the uterine cancer the best treatment options may be surgical and/or radiation. Depending on her underlying health quality of life and functional status has Rose ability to conduct her I ADLs and ADLs a radiation course may improve the holiday rely for the long-term these are difficult questions to answer and the team conference with a tumor board may be in order.
