LEAD POISONING: Vague symptoms such as vomiting with abdominal pain, weight loss, irritability, ataxia, irritability, headache, constipation and personality changes. Late effects are retarded grouth, poor performance in school, convulsions and coma. History of pica.

Pica: If a child is noted to ingest paint chips from peeling paint, or ingesting non food substances, they should have a lead blood test. Abdominal pain and headache are common signs of high lead levels. Speak to your pediatrician to have a blood lead level done.
