A member asked:

I'm on testosterone therapy, i keep hearing that some of it converts to estrogen. does it convert to estrone or estrodiol or estriol or all three?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Estradiol: Estradiol is synthesized via aromatase from testosterone. Estrone is synthesized via aromatase from androstenedione. Estriol is synthesized from both Estradiol and estrone. Estradiol is ~10 times as potent as estrone and ~80 times as potent as estriol in its estrogenic effect. In some men on t replacement, too much t is converted to Estradiol and may require a drug like Arimidex (anastrozole) to block.
