A member asked:

Does the antibiotic azithrin (used for std infection) interfere with the reliability of yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Despite prior warnings about antibiotics interfering with the efficacy of oral contraceptives, this advice has now changed. You no longer need to use an extra method of contraception with the pill, patch or vaginal ring while you take a course of antibiotics.
