Ok if no lesions: Active genital herpes lesions near the vaginal opening can be transmitted to baby with vaginal delivery. If there are no active lesions or prodromal symptoms, it's okay to have vaginal delivery. Consider taking prophylactic antivirao medication (acyclovir or valcyclovir) beginning at about 35-36 weeks gestation to prevent a recurrent lesion around the time of delivery.
