Mucinex (guaifenesin) DM = etoh: "Using dextromethorphan together with ethanol can increase nervous system side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience impairment in thinking and judgment." (http://www.drugs.com/interactions-check.php?drug_list=1034-14582,846-8245)

How MUCH alcohol?: If you are taking mucinex, (guaifenesin) i assume you have bronchitis and are having difficulty bringing up your mucus. This means there is an infection, or inflammation secondary to smoking. Alcohol is not good for either problem - it impairs our immune response and makes infection harder to treat, and increases inflammation. If you are talking about a social drink or two, there is no problem. More, there is.
