One time impact no: Shin spliints is an inflammation of the periosteum where the lower leg muscles attach and is usually associated with overuse or poor running biomechanics. Pain in this area (along the edge of the tibia) cause but a single impact is either a contusion or an actual injury to the bone. See a doc and get evaluated
