A member asked:

I am informed about ovarian/testicular cancer, but this is about the haploid gametes themselves: can they start dividing uncontrolaby?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

They do not: They are postmitotic. The tumors that arise from the diploid gametes are semitones and dysgerminoma and they are diploid.
